Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono

General TNI (Ret) Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, popularly known as SBY, was born in Pacitan, East Java, on 9 September 1949. He graduated from the Military Academy in 1973-top in his class. He received his fourth star in 2000. In the first-ever direct presidential election In Indonesia in 2004, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, running on a platform for "more just, more peaceful, more prosperous, and more democratic Indonesia", was elected as the 6th President Megawati Soekarnoputri.

President Yudhoyono is also an accoplished scholar. He was educate in the United States, where he received his Masters degree in Management from Webster University in 1991. H continued his study and earned a Doctorate Degree in Agricultural Economics from Bogor Institute of Agricuture, West Java, Indonesia, in 2004. President Yudhoyono weas awarded with two honorary doctorates is 2005, respectively in the field of law from his alma mater, Webster University, and in political science from Thammasat University in Thailand.

During his 27-year distinguished military sevice, President Yudhoyono took an extensive range of training, education and courses, both in Indonesia and overseas. President Yudhoyono also held numerous imporatant posts and positions as troop and territorial commander, staff officer, tainer and lecturer. He served both in the field and at headquarters, as well as missions overseas. He was the Commander of the United Nations Military Obsevers aned Commander of the Indonesian Military Contingent in Bosnia-Herzegovina from 1995-1996.

For his outstanding sevice, President Yudhoyono was decorated with 24 medals and awarsd, includingthe UNPKF Medal, the Bintang Dharma, the Bintang Mahaputera Adipurna and the Bintang Republik Indonesia Adipurna, the highest national medal for exellent service beyond the calls of duty.

Prior to being elected, President Yudhoyono held various imporant goverment positions, including Minister of Mining and Energy and Co-ordinating Minister for Political, Social, and Securiy Affairs in the National Unity Cabine under President Abdurrahman Wahid. He again served as Co-ordinating Minister for Political, Social, and Security Affairs in the Gotong Royong Cabinet under President Megawati Soekarnoputri. It was in his capacity as Coordinating Minister that he became internationally recognized for leading Indonesia's counter-terrorism efforts.

President Yudhoyono is also known for his activities in various civil society organizations. He served as Co-Chairman of the Governing Board of the Partnership for the Governance Reform, a joint Indonesian-international organization focused on the im provement of governance in Indonesia. He also served as Chaiman ofthe Advisory Board of the Brighten Institute, an institution devoted to studying the theory and practice of national development policy.

President Yudhoyono is a keen reader and has authored a number of books and articles including: Transforming Indonesia: Selected International Speeches (2005), Peace deal with Aceh is just a beginning (2005), The Making of a Hero (2005), Revitalization of the Indonesian Economy: Business, Politics and Good Governance (2002), and Coping with the Crisis - Securing the Reform (1999). Taman Kehidupan (Garden of Life) is his anthology published in 2004. Presidnet Yudhoyono speaks English fluently.

President Yudhoyono is a devoted Moslem. He is married to Madam Ani Herrawati. The first couple is blessed with two sons. The oldest is First Lieutenant Agus Harimurid Yudhoyono, who graduated top in his class from the Military Academy in 2000 and is now serving at the elite 305th Airborne Battalion of the Army Strategic Reserves Command (KOSTRAD). The youngest, Edhie Baskoro Yudhoyono, earned his degree in Economis from Curtin University, Australia

Cara Merawat Flashdisk

Flashdisk adalah salah satu alat penyimpanan data yang semakin hari semakin populer dan bisa dibilang menggeser peranan floppy disk atau yang biasa kita sebut dengan Disket. Sebenarnya flash disk dan disket memiliki fungsi yang sama, hanya saja flash disk biasanya memiliki kapasitas penyimpanan yang jauh lebih besar dibanding disket. Jika sebuah disket hanya mampu menyimpan data sebesar 1,44 Mega Bytes maka sebuah flash disk mampu menyimpan data mulai 32 Mega Bytes - 16 Giga Bytes, tergantung dengan berapa kapasitasnya.

Selain kualitas, mahal tidaknya flash disk juga tergantung dengan besarnya kapasitas yang tersedia, semakin besar kapasitasnya semakin mahal pula harganya. Memang sih, harga flash disk cenderung menurun dibanding dulu ketika pertama kali di luncurkan, tapi harga sebuah flash disk tidak bisa dikatakan murah lho. Nah biar flash disk kita awet, benda yang biasanya berukuran kecil dan berwarna lucu ini juga harus di rawat lho. Bukan cuma karena harganya yang relatif mahal tapi juga biar data-data penting yang tersimpan didalamnya lebih aman. Well, berikut ini ada tips bagaimana merawat dan menggunakan flash disk dengan benar, antara lain:

1. Jauhkan Dari Medan Magnet Kuat

Barang-barang elektronik seperti tv dan handphone sangat tidak baik untuk flash disk. Untuk itu jangan pernah menyimpannya di dekat barang-barang sejenis yang memiliki kekuatan magnet besar. Terkadang kita sering lupa jika meletakkan flash disk dan hand phone di tempat sama dalam tas. Nah mulai saat ini, kalau pingin flash disk kamu berumur panjang, jangan lagi menyimpannya di tempat sama ya?!

2. Jangan Terkena Air

Meski ada beberapa merk yang mengklaim waterproof, menjauhkan flash disk dari sentuhan air tetap saja menjadi langkah yang paling aman. Daripada data kamu hilang, mendingan tidak ambil resiko kan?

3. Virus Scan

Saat Pengambilan data atau pemindahan dari dari pc ke flash disk, sangat mungkin bukan hanya data yang ikut berpindah tapi juga virus-virus yang terdapat dalam komputer. Apalagi kalau kita mengambil dan menyimpan data dari internet. Waduh flash disk kamu bisa dipenuhi virus-virus pengganggu. 4. Proses Eject atau Stop/ Safety Remove

5. Jauhkan Dari Tempat Panas

Semua barang elektronik tak terkecuali flash disk sangat rentan dengan yang namanya panas. Apalagi terkena sinar matahari langsung. Jadi usahakan tidak menyimpannya ditempat yang panas dan terkena sinar matahari langsung. Misalnya seperti meninggalkan flash disk di mobil.

6. Hindari Benturan Keras

Coba rasain kalau kamu jatuh dari lantai 12, kamu bisa jadi harus masuk rumah sakit atau bahkan masuk ke rumah masa depan. Begitu juga dengan flash disk. Jadi jagalah flash disk kamu baik-baik dari benturan keras.

7. Tutuplah selalu.

Udara dan lingkungan kita penuh dengan debu dan kotoran. Jika socket flash disk kita kotor maka dapat mengakibatkan proses baca tulis sering gagal. Makanya selalu tutup biar nggak kotor, jangan malah diilangin tutupnya!

8. Minimalisir proses hapus-tulis

Sama seperti kita, flash disk juga memiliki usia lho. Artinya suatu saat flash disk kita bisa mati dan tidak bisa digunakan lagi. Usia flash disk berbeda-beda, tergantung kualitas dan merk dari flash disk itu sendiri. Biasanya usia flash disk antara 10.000-100.000 kali proses hapus tulis. Jadi usahakan untuk meminimalisir proses tersebut dan juga mengedit langsung dari flash disk.
